commercialism

A year ago if you asked me what I "wanted to be", I would of told you "something in marketing". Now, though, I believe commercials are manipulative (at least they try to be).

Music: Track 3 by Sigur Rós.

  1. Hey Will, great post!

It's scary how much advertising we're exposed to.

  2. Thanks Michael.

Euch.. I know. Advertising is everywhere... I hate it.

You can't even drive somewhere without having to look at advertisments.

When is it going to end?

  3. I have a good friend who is in marketing and my Mom asked him "how do you live with yourself" (although not quite like that, but you know what I mean). He said he loved it--that it was like a big puzzle he had to solve. He framed his job more in terms of his clients (the advertisers) and how he could create what they needed as opposed to thinking about who was lapping it all up at the end (the consumer). He also makes scads and scads and scads of money. I think how he sleeps at night is "very comfortably".

We ditched the tv this week. No more tv ads!

  4. This was really awesome, I'm re-vlogging it.

Take off your word verification, I think the scare is over.
